...Take a short trip to Andasibe Nature Reserve during your Antananarivo Travel. It's a three hour drive (140 km) to this rainforest on a beautiful winding road. After 80 km you can stop at the small nature reserve of Peyreras. They have a good collections of reptiles, insects and amphibians endemic to madagascar. Take a stroll around the local market in Moramanga and eat at the famous restaurant Le Coq D'or.
Although most visitors spend one or two nights here it's possible to visit Andasibe as a day trip from Tana. Hire a car and leave at 06.00 AM, arrive at 09.00, walk for a few hours and after lunch return to Tana.
Another great and less visited place to discover is Ampefy with its magnificent waterfall "Chute de la Lily" and the Geysers of Andranomandraota.
